Seasons greetings from the Byron G Merrill Library!
Winter is here and our gazebo on the
Common is decorated for the Holidays, tree and lights shining bright.
Library hours update - To ensure your health and ours we
have decided to close the Library and go back to porch side pick up until the
new year. We will keep you posted after that. We are still here to fill your
book requests for pick up and return on Susan’s porch. (Please include your
name when returning items).
Our new website is up and running! Go
to rumneylibrary.org to view our blogs and Book Lists (click in the upper right
corner to view lists of adult fiction and non-fiction) You may make your
requests by emailing sturbyne@rumneylibrary.org. For items that are not in the
Rumney Library collection you can email Jane – jkelso@rumneylibray.org and she will request these through New Hampshire
Interlibrary loans.
New Hampshire Overdrive/Libby app offers thousands of ebooks,
emagazines and eaudios. If you would like to be registered to check out ebooks,
please email jkelso@rumneylibrary.org.
Fun for the Family – A Christmas Story walk is up at the library. Beginning at the
front door, walk clockwise around the outside of the library to read the story posted
in the lower windows. Have fun and enjoy the “Happy Christmas” messages from the
little story mouse!
Season’s Readings – we have pulled out our favorite Holiday books, dvds and
magizines to choose from. Some of the favorites are
The Christmas Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini, an Elm Creek Quilts novel.
There’s Something about Christmas by Debbie Macomber, a fruitcake
controversy…?
Wreck the Halls by Sarah Graves, “A home repair is homicide mystery”.
Silent Night by Robert B Parker, a Spenser Holiday novel.
For the children:
The Christmas Visitors by local author Karel Hayes. The book cover shows bears
carrying boxes of Christmas decorations?
Cozy by Jan Brett. An Alaskan muck Ox becomes a shelter from the snowstorm
for many little woodland animals.
Wishing you all a good week. Even though our doors are closed
we would love to hear from you and try to make all your reading wishes come
true!
Jane and Library Ladies
