Rumney Library Update

Watch for Our Next Update - February 4th!

A Review of Last Week
What a fun week we just concluded....
*** Jane entertained several pre-schoolers at Story Time Monday morning,
***The ladies were here Wednesday afternoon for knitting, tea, and some conversation, ***Katy and Jane hosted supper and a discussion of the book Wesley the Owl by Stacey O'Brien Friday evening,
*** Jane was into Snowball Shooters Saturday morning which ended with a lively challenge,
***and, of course, many of you delightful patrons stopped by during the week.
It was a good week.

Now for a reminder...
We are open on Sundays during the month of January from 2:00-4:00, one more opportunity to find some great reads and curl up with a good book this winter!

What's happening this week...

Recurring events...This Week and Each Week

Family Time - Mondays at 10:15

Each week children and their adults gather downstairs in Merrill Hall for stories , songs and rhymes, and a movement activity plus a lot of socialization! You are welcome to join us each Monday morning at 10:15 for an hour or so of fun.

Wednesdays at 1

Join us and bring a friend Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 and bring your current fiber arts project. Our group will meet this coming Wednesday, January 24th. Enjoy a cuppa tea and the company of others. We may even start a puzzle!

After School Group - Wednesdays at 3

We are running an after-school group on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00. This group is for 5th-8th graders and will take place downstairs in the Teen Room. We will have games and art, comfy chairs for reading and chatting, and a snack. Send those middle schoolers our way!

Moving and Shaking!
Things are beginning to move around at the library! As our collection grows, we need to find new locations for our books and other materials. This week we are sorting through the sale book shelves as we have new fiction books to add! The YA section and Classics have moved. These changes can be a little confusing, so don't hesitate to ask library staff to help you find what you're looking for.

There is an ongoing book sale located at the two bookcases in the vestibule of the elevator entrance. There are some classic and beautiful vintage books for sale as well as some newer books, both fiction and nonfiction. The price is “what you feel is fair” and all proceeds go to support the library.

We’ll be happy to show you the display the next time you are in!

We also have a collection of free paperback books for you to grab for your next trip. These are located in the windowsill by the sale books and please feel free to pass them on when you are finished.

A reminder, our hours are:
    Mondays 10:00 am-1:00 pm and 3:00 pm-5:30 pm
