As we say "Goodbye to Summer" we are remembering our many busy days with our weekly "Summer Reading" activities. We truly appreciate our great kids and awesome parents who have made our library a part of their weekly schedule. We look forward to each and every library day!

Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading 2022 Recap

July 6 – August 13, 2022

 

                         Oceans, Sharks, whales, octopi, and all the wild, weird, and wonderful creatures of the sea kept kids fascinated throughout summer reading this year. Our interactive ocean wall was filled with different fish, turtles, and sea mammals that the children navigated with a little submarine. Each time they visited the library they added a  happy face sticker to their submarine and moved it by a starfish, a sea turtle or a shark, diving, and  submerging. Our board filled with 42 submarines, and 124 stickers.

Our “Look and Find Ocean Aquarium” filled with little creatures and objects as more were added to find each week. Sunken car, gold doubloons, Lego divers, sea sponge and more…

The ever-fun weekly guessing jar was out again this year. The kids would make a guess to how many items were in the jar and win the contents at the end of the week. Five happy winners.

Pepper Bellamy won a gift certificate for her book reviews.

As always, everyone is a winner. All our summer readers were invited to select a free book of their choice from our summer reads give-away bookshelf.

A fun time was had by all participants. We are grateful for the summer lake residents who frequent the library all summer long and for our Rumney families!
