What a fun Saturday we just had at Byron G Merrill Library! After a week of anxiety, it was decided to hold our “Summer at Last” Book Sale INSIDE the library and time proved us correct… How it rained Saturday morning!

So many helpers showed up at 8:30 AM to set up… boxes of books were brought up from downstairs (Thank you Emmet, Scott, Mike, TJ, Katy,  Olive, Steve for all your help), the baked goods table was arranged (Thank you Lorrie, Pat, Dotty, Karen, Diana, Sheila for all the goodies), and the music started playing (Thank you Molly and Richard for all the toe tapping tunes!)

We sold a lot of books and appreciate everyone’s generous donations. Maggie decorated a couple of dozen kids with her face painting skills and Jane signed everyone up for summer reading.

Summer Reading has just started and will continue until July 29th. Jane has set up a variety of challenges for our readers of all ages and we are calling on all parents to make the library a part of your weekly schedule.

Again, thank you to our wonderful community members…. Those I mentioned as well as those I missed! We look forward to our next sale on Old Home Day, August 10^th starting after the parade.
